Location: Arizona state parks, USA

Authorities in Arizona would like your read your thoughts on their 2025 trail expansion and maintenance plan.

Arizona State Parks & Trails has opened its 2025 Trails Plan for public comment. Anyone interested in participating has until April 10 to share their views on the plan.

The 2025 draft trails plan was opened for public comment this week. It outlines how the state proposes developing and improving its network of motorized and non-motorized trails. State law requires Arizona State Parks & Trails to update its trails vision every five years.

“The Trails Plan guides the acquisition, development, management, and resource allocation for both motorized and non-motorized trails throughout Arizona across land managers and recreation providers,” the agency said in a release. “It helps determine the distribution of grant funding from the federal non-motorized and motorized Recreational Trails Program and the state’s Off-Highway Vehicle and Heritage Trail funds.”

Anyone can share their views, regardless of background or whether you live in the state. Arizona boasts some of the most stunning natural landscapes in the world.

Interested public commentators are being asked to first review the entire draft plan and then share their opinions with ASP&T via email. Four state advisory groups will then review the draft plan and public comments before finalizing the 2025 Trails Plan.
