Travelers and residents in Arizona are invited to celebrate Jerome State Historic Park’s 60th anniversary this Saturday and to reminisce on the state’s former mining heydays.

“On Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., Jerome State Historic Park will host a community event celebrating its 60th anniversary,” Arizona State Parks and Trails announced. “The event will offer activities and exhibits that celebrate the history of the Douglas family and house, which has served as a state park since October 16, 1965.”

The park is located in northern Arizona’s high country, not too far from Prescott.

Jerome Historic State Park became Arizona’s fifth state park when it was established. It encompasses the former estate of a copper mining tycoon.
