Devil’s Backbone State Park opens to the public

Parks authorities in the US state of Tennessee are inviting nature enthusiasts to come out and enjoy the state’s newest state-managed natural attraction.

Devil’s Backbone State Park is located southwest of Nashville. Tennessee State Parks is now celebrating it as the newest addition to its portfolio of public parks it manages.

Tennessee State Parks says the new playground is currently open only for day use.

Devil’s Backbone State Park is “a unique Tennessee State Park located along the historic Natchez Trace Parkway in Lewis County,” the parks office says. “The park protects more than 1,500 acres of Western Highland Rim forest and is accessed directly from the historic Natchez Trace Parkway, managed by the National Park Service.”

Pictures of the park shared on the TSP website show a lush, green landscape, dense forest teeming with wildlife and abundant in different species of plants.
